While I spoke to Phillip Kinney at Matrix, State Sen. Quinton Ross, D-Montgomery, dropped into to say hello to Kinney; the two men have known each other since they were in Young Democrats. The senator wore jeans, sneakers, and a "Re-elect Quinton Ross" T-shirt.
This would be a good time to note that Ross is running unopposed for re-election. But, he says, it's all about a mindset.
"My name is on the ballot," he said. "Any time your name is on the ballot, you have to feel like you're running aginst the world."
Ross for now is driving around Montgomery County, "keeping visible and keeping people active."
